This is a Gigapan of the Loreley in Germany, along the Rhine river between Mainz and Koblenz, near the town of St. Goar. The Loreley is (in)famous for the fast-flowing Rhine below it, where numerous accidents have happened over the centuries of shipping on the Rhine. It is also the name of the legendary Rhine Maidens who lured boaters to their doom with their alluring singing. Even today there are accidents on the road due to tourists being distracted...
