Description

I shot this gigapan over the course of 24hours. The original concept was to create a seamless panaorama blending 60 vertical panoramas. Haven't figured out a good way to blend the vertical panoramas yet. This is a trial run so you'll find lots of mistakes!

This is a nice demonstration of a concept. I have considered taking shots with a very long interval (say 10min) between shots. The other notion is that one simply keeps shooting 360s. Then imagine that each panorama was laid on top of the one before it. Then, a slider bar, perhaps below the image, would be used to scroll though the stack (with crisp transitions or fades) One could also do a day night "loop". One would have to be pretty good at Java, xtml, or some other panotools to pull this off. And then taking the images of worthy subjects using manual or programmed techniques becomes the challenge. Maybe that is where one starts.
