This area doesn't have a name as far as I can find out. It's on the Mississippi river flats below downtown St. Paul. I had noticed these birds in previous gigapans and decided to check them out.
This is a HDR image made from five-stop brackets at each location. To overcome the depth of field limitation of my telephoto lens, I shot near and far versions of the central sculpture. Changing the focus also changes the size of the images, giving a halo around the sculpture.
