NY 5 Redux... by John Opie

A redo of an existing gigapan after working on the images in Lightroom 2.6.

This is a 42 image gigapan, 14x3 images, taken from the top of the Empire State Building. We're on the south side of the observation platform, looking directly south towards downtown.

Epic 100, Olympus E510, 40-150 kit lens, 150mm (300mm 35mm equivalent, 1/1000th s at f5.6

The previous picture had a strong tobacco-colored tint to it, a white balance failure (mine, not the camera). This I corrected now in Lightroom and this stitch job was done with the new stitcher (1.0.0805), which is vastly faster and more efficient: the local preview was done in less than 6 minutes! With this moderately sized image set, I can literally watch the stitching indicator bar move towards completion: 8:44! It will take significantly longer to upload then to render, which is the inverse of my results with the old stitcher...
