The Clay Butte fire lookout tower, located in the Shoshone National Forest of northwest Wyoming, USA. This 360-degree panorama shows the lookout tower, the mountains of the Absaroka (ab-SOAR-kuh) Range, and the valley of the Clarks Fork of the Yellowstone River. This location is about 20-miles/32Km from the Northeast Entrance to Yellowstone National Park. It is an easy drive up an improved Forest Service gravel road, off US Hgwy-212, the Beartooth Highway.
The image consists of 24 vertical frames shot with a Canon PowerShot S3 IS, mounted on a leveled tripod and panoramic head, with a standard circular polarizer attached. It was stitched in Photoshop CS4 Photomerge and adjusted for contrast. The final Large Format PSD file is 365.1-megabytes in size.
