    Some is bluer, some whiter, some browner. The browner presumably coming from iron and other minerals in the water. What causes some of the ice to be bluer?

    Some days, in the winter, when the air is well below freezing and the water flow is low, the water going over the falls is not visible at all, it is trickling down through the center of the ice column...

    I believe the mechanism for the formation of these odd icicles is:
    1) water drips from cracks in overhang, creating typical vertical icicles,
    2) spray from waterfall to the right and the wind gener...
