The Buffalo Bill Dam near Cody, Wyoming, USA, turned 100 years old on Jan. 16th, 2010, and 296 of the people attending the celebration lined up on the viewing platform for this photograph. 79 images were used in four rows to produce a photo 857-megabytes in size. This version has been cropped to eliminate the blank edges.
When it was completed 100 years ago, the dam was the tallest concrete structure in the world, at 325-feet. In the mid-1980s, a project was begun to raise the height of the dam by 25-feet, add the walkway, visitor center and landscaping, and install a control gate on the spillway.
