Located in Wells Gray Provincia; Park. BC north of Clearwater. The falls is about 185 feet high and flows into a volcanic gorge. Many layers of basaltic lava make up the colourful gorge. The reddish colour is caused by iron and other minerals in the basalt. Most recent lava flows were less than 1 million years ago and the canyon which is about 400 feet deep was carved during the massive melts of the last ice age about 10,000 years ago.

Wow! I did not realize how large that waterfall and rock wall are until I explored the panorama a bit. I love the shape of the pool between the two tiers.
