Volume 3 Issue 5Another shot i'm really happy I finally got after several delays and false starts kept me from actually photographing the marine stadium.
The Miami Marine Stadium was built in 1963 on Virginia Key, used throughout the 60s and 70s for powerboat races and rock concerts, etc. By the early 90s the place needed serious renovation and was condemned in 1992 after Hurricane Andrew. The entire thing is now covered top to bottom in graffiti.
I don't think, technically, it was trespassing...my friends and I didn't hop any fences and weren't asked to leave. Take note of the piece with 2010 written on it-- it's less than 4 days old.

Update: As of April 8, 2010, the Miami-Dade Commission has approved $3 million to go toward rehabbing the stadium. Like a lot of the locations I shoot, it's just the natural life cycle of a graffiti penit...
