The Maui Nui Botanical Garden is a great community treasure. Located in kahului and open to the public
it contains rare and endangered plants of hawaii and an extensive ethnobotanical collection. This gigapan
of a section of the garden features native and ethnobotanical plants of Hawaii with Tara one of the gardeners.
This gigapan will be used by ethnobotany students to recognize important plants to the cultures of Hawaii.

    Wow. As a photographer, I would have immediately dismissed this image as being 'too broad', and not really focusing on anything. This broadness usually leads to a LACK of good information, but with this resolution, MUCH can be investigated throughout the picture. I originally thought "how will I be able to see 5 plants in this picture", but after zooming in, MANY plants are made readily apparent. Cool stuff!

    Interesting site. Would be nice to be able to tag parts of the photo with names to ID plants.

    The pictures of this website are very nice. The garden seems well kept, and I would not mind visiting if I ever came to Maui.

    I've never heard of Gigapan before, but it's interesting to be able to explore visually. The resolution is so high!

    Wow, great photo! At first I had a hard time recognizing different plants, however the zoom allowed me to see the many different plants in the photo! Great website!!!
