The vehicle barriers set up early in 2009 dividing the Playas valley, Hidalgo, New Mexico, from the Janos valley, Janos, Chihuahua, is a barrier which the endangered pronhorn (status in Mexico) and only free ranging bison herd of Mexico and the US Southwest as well as any other ungulate can't cross. While the bison also moves further west in an area where, as today, has no barrier, it is making people use those areas to cross, and reducing the use of wildlife of that area.
