vol 2 issue 3 Waimea Bay two days before the Eddie Aikau Big Wave Surf Meet. Waves were on the rise, and Lifeguards were pulling surfers and swimmers out all day. Waimea Bay is known for its giant, thick waves during the winter time. The day of this pano, the Waimea river mouth was pumping. Back in the day, Waimea was known for it's fierce warrior clans. It was dangerous for anyone to voyage here, Hawaiian and foreigner alike.
