Description

Sandhill cranes feeding in a cornfield just south of the Platte River, just east of Fort Kearney, Nebraska. Cranes are nervous birds and hard to approach. Since I didn't have a blind, I did my best to get up on a old railroad grade and used the tele-converter lens on my Canon S5-IS. I'll have to try getting up there again when there's better weather.
