This little reservoir is squeezed between Ha Ling Peak and Mount Rundle, not far from Banff, Alberta, Canada. The pictured rock wall behind the water is the Southwest flank of Ha Ling Peak.
For this pano I used a medium format camera, wide-field lens, b/w film with extended red sensitivity, and a #25 red filter. Hugin (hugin.sourceforge.net
/) was used to remap my scans as the Gigapan Stitcher works great with telephoto source photos but not so well with undoctored wide angles. Finally, I used Stitcher pull the pano together.
The contemplative dude at far right just materialized on the beach and provided some needed scale. Cool.
