Cierva Cove is on the west side of the Antarctic Peninsula, nestled in the north of Hughs Bay. Base Primavera is an Argentine research station on Cierva Point. The base is open only in the summer, and we were fortunate enough to arrive on a brilliant day just before the station closed for 2008. The ice-strewn cove provides plenty of opportunities for folks who admire big ice. Among the gravel and rocks, we found lichens, mosses and a few vascular plants giving a surprising variety of color to the landscape by the station. The 15 digital images of this panorama were captured with a hand-held Nikon D80 and stitched with Autopano Pro.
