Outcrop of Middle Miocene age rocks in the Malatya Basin-TransAtlantic Turkey Ltd. There is a 1-2 meter thick coal seam on the left of the outcrop that is mined nearby. Interbedded thin sandstones and limestones. These coals in the Miocene and Pliocene outcropping are buried deeper to 2-3 km depth in the basin, providing a possible source for oil and gas as well as thicker Eocene black shales.
