Another in the series of panoramas based around the historic core of Hexham and its wonderful Abbey. This shows the Market Place with the Abbey at its west end and the old Moot Hall at the east end. Beaumont Street (seen in previous Gigapans) comes in from the south and exits as Market Street to the north. Just left of centre is Hallstile Bank, a road leading north east originally becoming Alemouth Road an old toll road leading all the way to the east coast of Northumberland. Well worth exploring by clicking on the 'View in Google Earth 4.2' button
