- Description
-
This is a limestone mine and cement processing facility at Exshaw. Being very near Banff National Park the location is closely watched for environmental correctness, and given that strip mining can have such horrible environmental consequences the Owners, Management, and Staff here deserve praise for their responsible and sensitive operations. (The body of water is Lac des Arcs - essentially a natural widening of the Bow River - with fish and birds and all the wildlife you'd expect to find. It is NOT a poisonous pond for mine tailings.) Consider too that the mine has been in operation for more than a century. Credit where credit is due, I say.
