This image is one of several gigapan-based "gigaplot" photo-remonitoring points setup in the Northern Jaguar Reserve in Sonora to help measure the effectiveness of various landscape treatments aimed at improving habitat conditions for jaguar and preferred prey species.. This image was taken in Sep 2009, 14 months after livestock were removed to assist with the process of ecological restoration. Compare to the photo above "Dubural Hills Gigaplot Jun '08" which was taken the last day livestock were present. Zoom in to see the improving ground cover in areas with severe terracing and erosion.
