A test shot of Weston from Lansdown Hill. I hope to be working with a client in Weston and I wanted to see if I could see their premises from afar.
Initially I took this shot from about 5 feet further down the hill. The shoot took about 45 minutes. 40 minutes into the shoot I wandered up the hill a little and realised I could see Brunel's suspension bridge in Bristol. I anxiously scrambled back down to see if I could see it from where the camera was set up and of course I couldn't. Naturally, this was completely unacceptable to me so I re-shot the whole thing :-)
This image makes a triangle of gigapans taken from Beckford's Tower, Kelston Round Hill (www.gigapan.org/gigapans/9145/) and Southdown Round Hill (www.gigapan.org/gigapans/9802/). Also, search on "Kelston Round Hill" and "Beckford's Tower" to find other gigapans where you can see both of these landmarks from afar.

fetching snapshots...

The infomation you refer to can be found here: www.gigapan.org/viewConversation.ph p?id=26429 It was so important to get my facts correct that I made a special trip to Fondren Library (www.gigapan.org/gigapans/10339/snap shots/28791/) to verify the information.

It is also historical for the fact that it features Kelston Round Hill, once visited by Queen Elizabeth the First - something I didn't know until you told me :-) You can also see Southdown Round Hill (location of Zoom Baby, Zoom) which is kinda neat.

Good looking GigaPan and historical too (Beckford's Tower). Whenever I see the name Weston, I can't help from thinking or remembering about Sophie Weston (played by Susannah York ... another good English name), the beautiful lady in the movie and the Book, Tom Jones, by Henry Fielding.
