This image was a preliminary study for the creation of a detailed, 360-degree panorama of the Pittsburgh area from the top of the US Steel Tower and produced in conjunction with an investigation being conducted by David Bear at Carnegie Mellon University's Studio for Creative Inquiry. Camera position looks to be 40.441439N 79.995224W, hopefully correct within two or three meters.

I had the same problem but instead of building an overhanging rig, I used a tall film lighting stand with extention up to 20 feet in order to get over the boundary wall on this tower in Bristol www.gigapan.org/gigapans/33892/ and www.gigapan.org/gigapans/33824/ Keith
