Description

The Mountain of the Moon, Fengari, is the highest peak in the Aegean rising to 1600+ meters and located on the island of Samothrace. According to legend, this is peak from which the god, Poseidon watched the Trojan War. To take this image I climbed the mountain from the southern approach. It was quite a windy day and we had to pile rocks around the tripod and hold the rig down to keep it from blowing over. The original shot was wider (to the left) but there were a few errors in that portion of the image due to the wind so I compiled it as a separate image to experiment with some post processing and eventually to join with this image.
