Everyone likes this lake - it is called "Twenty Dollar View" - The view of Moraine Lake (very similar to this photo) was printed on the reverse side of a Canadian twenty dollar bill.
Glacially fed in Banff National Park, it is situated in the Valley of the Ten Peaks. The lake has a surface area of 0.19 sq mi, and reflects a distinct shade of blue when full. It is one of the most photographed locations in Canada.
A photo of the same view has been uploaded here recently at: gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=30679
The big shadows of the Ten Peaks can also be seen on the Google Map. This panorama has been placed on the Map. Click to see (need to zoom-in the Map).

Hi Dave, You are welcome. The rockpile was closed sometime in early June, one month before I was there, and it may take 6 months to reopen it. I was told that all Ten Peaks can be viewed only from the top of rockpile.

Thanks for adding the link to my photo of Moraine Lake. I guess the trail to the top of the rockpile is still closed. I'll be returning here in the fall. ~Dave
