Well, this sort worked. :-)
We had fairly lousy weather in San Francisco - surprise, surprise - and I went to Fisherman's Wharf with my daughter to meet up with a friend of hers who was in from Germany with her father. We didn't have a lot of time, but I remember that the sealions were a raucous and popular thing to see, and that there was a nice view from the upper level of Fisherman's Wharf.
What I didn't know at the time was that the camera had become decentered on the gigapan (or, more exactly, I didn't notice...), and this generated a number of problems with overlap and with continuity. This is why it is imporant to set up your gigapan properly!!!
Kit: Epic 100, Olympus E510, 40-150 kit lens, 150mm (35mm: 300mm), exposure 1/250th at f8
Focus was a problem here: the sealions in the foreground were just a tad too close for the focus, which was set to infinity. Hence they aren't quite as sharp as I would have liked them to be...
