This is actually the fourth in a series, taken within a few hours on an absolutely lovely day at Crater Lake National Park in Oregon.
This is an example, as well, of what happens when you set up the gigapn incorrectly (or, in my case, accidently moved some of the settings, in this case the camera orientation). In the original, you have the feeling that the camera is pointing downwards (not sure if this happens in the final uploaded version).
It took me around three tries to get this to work correctly, all of which were my fault: the first attempt had close to 700 pictures and there were only around 600 left on the camera; the second attempt I was uncertain whether I had set the focus properly, and only on the third attempt did I do everything right. :-)
Thanks to Christine, my oldest daughter, who was severely annoyed at me by this time, as it was the fourth gigapan in three hours. Patience is a virtue. :-)
Kit: Epic 100, Olympus E510 with 40-150 kit lens, 150mm (35mm: 300mm), 1/500@f8, ISO 100. Great weather made this an easy one... :-)
