Several years ago, before the major and *very* expensive remodeling financed by taxes, the clearance of this overpass was minimal. State of Texas Transportation notified all trucking companies about this via letters, etc, but still trucks would come barreling down the freeway only to suddenly stop, lose their roof and their load with the result of shutting down the Southwest Freeway for hours. Earthquake stories are told of people walking across the Hazard Street Overpass when one of the incidents occurred.
Now, this problem never happens, but every time I get close to this overpass, I remember the way it use to be.
