This SEM Nanogigapan is of a twig taken from a pygmy tree growing on the Mendocino coast. This is a cross section of the twig magnified 250x. You can make out the growth rings in this image.

This Gigapan is part of the NanoGigaPan project. Which is working to take big pictures of very small things.
