The 170-acre site on Indian Creek, a tributary of the Guadalupe River, was purchased by the archdiocese from the Armstrong family through a generous donation by Beverly Pevehouse of Midland and Kerrville. The property included a hunting lodge, which has since been remodeled into a 1,000-square-foot residence for Msgr. Boulette. On the hill to the left is the new Archbishop’s Cottage and on the right is the first new Quiet House. The Quiet Houses will be used for individual retreats. Both structures were designed by Fisher*Heck Architects with Zuber Construction as general contractor.
