These cliff are within a regional park north of Livermore California. These sandstone formations are called turbidities. This park is home to falcons, hawks, vultures, coyotes, bobcats, and an occasional mountain lion.
These left and right views were made as a stereo image and may be viewed using the crossed viewing method using no glasses. A description is this method may be found here:
home.comcast.net/~holographics/cross.html
Crossed viewing requires that the right image is placed on the left and the left image be placed on the right. The same region of interest must be selected for both images. Both images must be at the same level and the same magnification. It is best to use the full screen images to do this. Here they are:share.gigapan.org/viewGigapanFullscreen.php?id=25839

This is one of my favorite 3-D Gigapans as I like the way the valley falls away from the viewer, its a very strong 3-D effect! This image can be viewed in 3-D with its stereo pair in a synchronized 'cross-eye' viewer here: www.3dpan.org/25839-25840-1.4--.25
