Note! We have cleaned up the jagged edges and changed the blue tinge on this panorama and uploaded it again on June 16.
When we arrived to camp here in the evening we saw sea otters swimming nearby and a big cruise ship in the distance. It would be possible to see orcas and many different birds including bald eagles. None of these were present when I took the gigapan, however. This was shot with a Nikon P90 and the Epic 100.
I am not sure how to prevent the ragged top of this image. It is happening on others I have shot as well. Does anyone have any suggestions about how to prevent this? I have not yet tried to manipulate the exported images in Photoshop, but this may be the solution.

Gary: The top edge photos that are raised above the apparently correct top edge are those with only sky beneath them. The photos that are raised more have more sky beneath them. This suggests that the stitcher erred in one direction (up) when trying to align photos with little pattern for matching. I don’t know if there is anything the GigaPan stitcher can do to avoid that. Its great to see Alaskan GigaPans. Chris

Thank you Tom for your response. You encouraged me to examine the exported image in Photoshop and I was able to crop and modify the blue cast of the gigapan. I will try to upload the new one soon. As we examined the photo this way we could see a sea otter in one of the small bays to the right. I will create a snapshot on this existing image. Thanks again for your help. Gary

Hi Gary, The ragged top is caused by minor variations in robotic positioning and by perspective. It'd be easy to clone in more sky or to simply crop the top a bit. I know of no more elegant solution. Tom
