Spencer and I rented a car...well, I did the renting, and drove up to the Iao Valley. The rental car lady said her grandfather lived in the area and told her stories of the river running red once a year with the blood of the ancient warriors, and the Night Marchers thundered through at night.

"Were you scared?" spencer asked. "No, when you live in Hawaii you get used to that sort of thing."
