More fun with large scale gigapanography and non-static subject matter. Puffs of sulfur laden steam makes focusing on the vents themselves a real challenge. It's easy to see where the camera focused on the steam instead of the rocks behind. You can also see the size of each frame in this 20 row x 30 column gigapan.
I'll try this another time using manual focus for each frame - pause the GigaPan unit after the first frame, and move one frame at a time using the "Forward" button. No worries about "Time per Pic" issues, either.
