I sat on the curb, pausing the camera, reshooting images marred by passing cars and people, and still didn't get it perfect...
This was one of my earlier efforts, and this row of bikes just called out 'take me'
I took so many gigapans of 'trivial' subjects, 'missing' out on the significant sites. I never did make it to the British Museum, or the Tate, or any museum other than the Geffrye's. I did go into Saint Paul's, and while it is pretty cool, it didn't move me at a deep level. Don't take me for a philistine, the memorials in the basement and the tombs are moving, and the whole 'if you would see his monument look around you' Christopher Wren thing is cool - it is like this ancient structure which is not in any way lost in antiquity. 'Everything' (for some values of everything) is known about St. Paul's. It has a continuous history, and it is all glorious, but it wasn't a part of my history, unlike the damn fruit flies which are currently bedeviling my efforts to type and to drink my White Russian (dude!). Don't let your children make candle holders out of apples, and if they do, for god's sake, don't let them get 'lost' in their room for a week!
