Table Rock Mountain is located in South Carolina's upcountry near the border with Western North Carolina. The range of mountains that shoots up here is known locally as the "Blue Wall". It is the part of great rising of the Blue Ridge Escarpment , with Table Rock Mountain reaching a height of 3425 feet. SC Highway 11 - the Cherokee Foothills Scenic Highway, passes by the park.
Enormous cliff faces visible from Highway 11 will set a climber drooling. Acres of 350 foot vertical granite cliffs round off at the top of the mountain. Though tempted by the site of the huge walls visible from the highway, almost all continue on there way to other places once they learn of the long and difficult approaches to the cliffs.
