    No they aren't Termite made. If your interested how they were created you can read it here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Pinnacle s_Desert Will open in a new tab or window@ PTZ by the way The Place is not in the USA it's in Australia The Pan looks even greather in Google Earth Thanks for the comments

    Pretty cool. I love the texture of the sand. Are those mounds termite mounds? I have not been to the west coast since 1989. I want to go back, but it is a long flight with kids :)
