Here is the view from the flight deck of an LC-130H on its way to the South Pole from McMurdo. Below us are the Transantarctic Mountains.
The last LC-130 left the South Pole on February 16. By the end of the month, they had left Antarctica, flying northward towards home.
To the New York Air National Guard's 109th Airlift Wing, thank you for the ride.
