    This is the iconic red, bulky, insulated coat that is issued to most of the personnel who deploy to American Antarctic stations.

    Description:

    Digging to the entrance of Old Pole took some effort. For a while, the plywood kept the entrance free of encroaching snow.

    Description:

    Although we are only about 300 meters away, the dish of the South Pole Telescope is almost hidden in the mist. This telescope is the tallest structure on the station.

    Description:

    There is a tunnel here that is rather full of snow. The bucket helps us dig out the tunnel down to the entrance 10 feet below the surface.
