Bird-viewing platform at Estero Llano Grande State Park.

This is my first Gigapan pano - turned out acceptably well. There's one stitching line that is a little displaced. I would have fixed it up in Photoshop but even though it is 'only' about 500Mb (ie well below the problematic 2Gb boundary), Photoshop 5 says there is an error in the tiff file and rejects it.

PS It's my wife's Gigapan Epic - she was out doing a 5K run today when I stole it for an hour :-) Look in her account for more pics of the Rio Grande Valley to come. We thought we'd drive up to Roma Bluffs tomorrow, which has an amazing view of Mexico.

A very atmospheric shot (if you will excuse the pun). I much prefer this kind of image to what I call 'chocolate-box' images - all blue sky and green fields, snow-capped mountains etc. Re the tif file. It is odd that the gigapan stitcher should produce an invalid file. If you have the latest uploader you could send the image data to gigapan. Alternatively, you could try using The Gimp (free trustworthy image editor) to load the file and save it again. I have used this technique to fix images that other programs claim are "invalid" in some respect. The Gimp is pretty robust and very well-tested.
