I used a tripod.. I spent most of my money on the camera and I'm not sure how I would have gotten the gigapan unit overseas and still stayed under the baggage limit.. ;) I've got plans to build a similar unit (only much larger) to actually hold my D200. Won't be very 'portable' but with results like this, I don't know that I much care.. I'm going back this Summer, so I'm hoping to get a few more (possibly inside the opera house).. ;) The low res version of this has much better color in the sky, but the detail isn't nearly as good. Still very impressive though..
