The San Jacinto river (properly the west fork of the river) flows through Montgomery County, Texas from Lake Conroe to Lake Houston. River flow is typically light and is controlled by the release of water from Lake Conroe. In dry periods one can walk across the river at mid-calf depth. Between I-45 and Hwy 242, the river has a number of wide sand beaches. Although there is no park or official sanction for recreational use, the river is home to four wheelers, offroad trucks, skeet shoots, poaching, and the occasional ad hoc driving range. Motorized vehicles can receive a ticket from game wardens if the are in the river bed, but this is a minimal deterrent.

Thanks. That's me in the red USC shirt. The short one is my 5 year old and the taller boy is our neighbor.

I like the father and two boys on this side of the river, they get included AGAIN further downstream.
