Description

Multispectral images of a mowed clearing in central Vermont with recent scars from logging activity. The mosaic was stitched manually in Photoshop from 17 photos captured by a Canon PowerShot A590 suspended from a nine-foot delta kite on May 31, 2014. The A590 had its internal infrared block filter replaced with a piece of Wratten 25A gel filter and records only near infrared light in the blue channel. The red channel is used to represent visible light to compute NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index).
