Å. The end of the Lofot road. Distinctive fishing station with several older buildings comprising a fishing station museum where you can see many of the older types of handwork demonstrated. Fishing possibilities in Åvatnet, (Å water) on the outskirts of Å. Boat trips are arranged to the Refsvika cave on the outer side of the island, beside the deserted settlement of Refsvik. The 50m high and 100m deep cave contains exceptional pictures of humans, the only ones found in North Norway. The figures are drawn using a special scraping technique and are from around 500 years Before Christ. Post office, hotel and shanties.
