Description

Sample Montague 115. Thin section of fault zone rock from drill core through the Eastern Border Fault on the Mesozoic Basin in Montague, Massachusetts. Light areas dominated by quartz with some plagioclase. Dark areas dominated by muscovite with some chlorite. Darkest micaceous seams contain graphite. Opaque minerals are iron oxide.
Field of view is approximately 30 by 21 mm.
Plane Polarized light.
