I have a Manfrotto 303SPH QTVR Spherical Panoramic Head, but it's laborious to use. I have been using it for about 10 years. I also looked at your website. Impressive. It's always amazing to see the various interest areas that each photographer has. I can see that you have vast skills. I am trying to branch away from just panoramas and sunsets. Creating something compelling to look at should be my job. That's hard. On the technical side I am getting much better... like depth of field, focus, stitching, etc. Next I need to grow the artist inside me so my next photo will draw people back to see my work. I'll upload a pano that I did when I was 15 years old in 1965 (Yes I'm 63 years young now). I just uploaded it. I had to resample it upwards to get above 50 megapixels so the Gigapan sever would accept it.

I wonder if some variation of this might work: tnphoto.com/giga/ProtractorMount-w .jpg Will open in a new tab or window You could use the front rise/fall to make rows.

Tom, Thanks for the comments. I have a 150mm Rodenstock on order. The scary part is how many images would that create? I would also have to drive it with some sort of manual nodal rail system. Automation, like a Gigapan Epic Pro won't work with a technical camera because the shutter has to be manually cocked and fired. I do have a couple of manual systems that could work. I will find out soon... once the lens arrives.

I'd love to see what this combination can do with a little longer lens.
