This is a very large panorama of the LA Basin. This photo shows Newport Beach Harbor, Huntington Beach, Long Beach and downtown Los Angeles. Catalina Island can be clearly seen. Multiple airplanes can be seen... some still on the runway at John Wayne Airport. This photo was done using 29 shots using a PhaseOne 645DF+ and an IQ260 digital back. The lens was a Schneider 75-150 zoom set to 150mm. This image is approximately 180 degrees wide. I am very pleased with having found such a clear day. The abandoned Coyote Canyon Landfill can be clearly seen in this image. Look for the winding dirt roads and circular plastic "barrels" and white pipe vents.

    Very nice work. Irvine has grown so much since I was living there. In 1978 I took a series of 35mm slide shots nearby on a hilltop in Turtle Rock where I could also see snow on the mountains and Catalina. Much of what was grassy land is covered with homes now. <http://gigapan.com/gigapans/723 75>;
