Description

A wonderfully clear day. The exposures were about 30 seconds, so sorry about the movement in the trees. Look at Catalina, the island in the middle of the image, and you will see even the radio towers. Catalina is 24 miles away. Then far to the left you can see San Clemente Island and even one of it's radio towers is visible. San Clemente Island is about 54 miles off shore. On the right side of the image is the hilltop / mountain called Palos Verdes, and just right of Palos Verdes you can see the Santa Monica Mountains in the distance. On the edge of the water just below the Santa Monica mountains (they are much farther away) is the coast line of Long Beach. The skyscrapers of Long Beach can easily be seen. San Pedro Harbor (Long Beach) is where most of the large container ship offload their cargo on the West Coast here in California. You can easily see the cranes used to unload the shipping containers.

Closer in and near the center of the image is the harbor entrance to Newport Beach Harbor. You can just see the shapes of four people on the end of one of the jetties. On the other jetty is a single person.

It's nice to see people enjoying Christmas Day outside. Our day was special. I hope your day was equally nice and may peace, trust and love swirl accros the globe.
