    Description:

    Now mostly buried with snow, and soon to be dismantled, this geodesic dome housed most of the South Pole reseach facilities before the newer, much larger elevated station was built.

    This tree stands by the Geographic South Pole on Christmas morning. When the holidays are over, it will return to the berms.
