Description

This is how my friend and I first encountered the cathedral. My reaction was "Wow, that's very 3D!" to which my friend said "Well, it *is* 3D isn't it? If you think about it, it couldn't be any more 3D could it?". I grudgingly admitted he had a point :-) Interestingly, after my friend had spent an hour looking around inside the building I asked him how he had found the cathedral and he said "it wasn't very religious". A not very religious cathedral?! Actually, sounds like my kind of place.

You can see the other side of the cathedral here gigapan.com/gigapans/140704

Chris may be passionate about history, but when you return to Glouchester Cathedral, you may want to focus on the Harry Potter at the Cathedral: www.bbc.co.uk/gloucestershire/focu s/2003/08/potter_more_info.shtml Will open in

Chris is passionate about history so he would make a good guide with Andrea. You're qualified to teach gigapanning so you could do that. That just leaves the job of sitting in the office counting all the money. That works for me.

We (you and Chris being the English agents and Andrea and I being the American agents) could make a good amount of money by being English Cathedral GigaPan Tour Guides and offer our services to visit every cathedral city so that our customers could take GigaPans of the cathedrals and/or visit at least one museum per city. You could be the GigaPan leader and Andrea could be the museum guide, while Chris and I take care of transportation and luggage ... you would need to find another person to take care of hotel and meals for everyone. Transportation may not be too bad because to the best of my knowledge, Wells is the only cathedral city that has no train station, but from this list and from the map, it appears that we may have at least one major problem other than Wells: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cath edrals_in_England_and_Wales Will open in

Glos. is only an hour from Bath - quite a bit less than getting to Paris :-) Actually Chris liked the place too so we me may go back there this coming week.

Gloucester is a good distance to drive to from Bath ... about half the distance, well maybe more, to Paris :)

Thanks guys. Before I went there I thought nobody had gigapanned in Glos at all which surprised me as it is full of interest. But I had only searched for geocoded gigapans - when I searched on the name of the town I found there were a few more. Still, there is enough in the town to make going back well worth it - watch this space :-)

I really like the detail of the stained glass windows. Nice job sixsixone.

Back in 1985, Andrea and I have travelled to Gloucester to visit the cathedral, and had a spectacular time. As soon as I saw this GigaPan, I told her what you had done, and she immediately tells me all the stuff she liked so much, and this was almost 30 years ago ... her memory is much better than mine.
