The Rotunda Building was built between 1914-1918 as part of E. G. Lewis' Colony Holding Corporation. This 4 story building has had numerous occupants since that time. Most recently, it has been the City Hall for Atascadero.
There was serious damage caused by the 12/22/2003 earthquake. The building is now closed (hence the fence) and it is estimated that it will cost $26 million for it to be restored. The city wants to complete the restoration and expects to begin the project in 2009.
