Description

A large outcrop of the Navajo Sandstone in northern Arizona. If you inspect this panorama closely you will find evidence for much deformation within the outcrop. The Navajo Sandstone is latest Triassic to earliest Jurassic in age, and formed when this area was similar in environment to the modern Sahara Desert.
